HEALTH
There are approximately 78 unqualified health practitioners known to be working in Machar Colony. This leads to misdiagnosis, wrong prescriptions, excess use of antibiotics, over medication, and the use of IV fluids when not needed. Due to the lack of identity documentation, community members do not have access to low cost/government health facilities.
Community Healthcare Centre (CHC)
Through the Community Healthcare Centre, Imkaan aims to provide a safe and reliable space for treatment and care for the women and children of Machar Colony. The CHC, currently offers the following services:
- Mother & Child Healthcare Clinic
- Mental Health Clinic
- Maternal Health Initiative
